SAA Pilots Association Zebula AirShow 2013

For the 5th year running the SAA Pilots association have held their extremely popular fly-in and airshow at this magnificent resort set in the African Bush. Zebula, being around 2.5 hours’ drive by road from Johannesburg close to Bela-Bela is one of the best airshows to attend. The location of the airfield, in the wild African bushveld is tranquil and relaxing. The flying programme is setup to ensure that a visitor has ample time to get to the airfield and return to home base without being pressurised for time. And for those who wish there are a number of game lodges surrounding Zebula as well as Zebula itself providing luxury accommodation for the guests. One could enjoy a weekend away in the bush whilst attending a most pleasurable airshow as well.

Arriving on a slightly overcast morning to the hustle and bustle of all the exhibitors preparing for the day’s events we were as impressed as last year. The venue is such that the visitor can sit under the wild African thorn trees whilst viewing the displays. Complementing this was the huge Bedouin-style food tent where the Zebula team were buy all day to provide the crowds with good quality food and drinks. The health spa side of Zebula provided a relaxing massage for those who wanted to experience some of the pampering that the resort has to offer. In the mid-afternoon the sounds of African drums could be heard as the Zebula team brought on a display of traditional African dancing to entertain visitors.
