At the time of SAA’s take-over of Union Airways the single Junkers A.50 owned by them became part of SAA. In 1935 when SWA Airways was taken over by SAA a further two were added to the strength of SAA.
The A50s were used mainly by South West African Airways in the principle role as air mail carriers.
A total of three A.50's were operated by the airline.
ZS-ACL (Ex Union Airways), ACJ and ACK (ex SWA Air-ways)
Modelling
There is no kit of this aircraft available that I am aware of.
Colours
The aircraft appears to have been natural metal overall.
Decals
At the time of writing no dedicated decals have been pro-duced to allow the modeller to build an SAA operated air-craft. Although being plain black registration codes and airline titles it should not be too difficult to reproduce them
